Guinea-Bissau Navy is taking delivery of two patrol boats donated by the Spanish Civil Guard’s Naval Service.
The two vessels (M08 and M13) are Spanish built Rodman Polyships 55M models formerly operated by the Servicio Maritimo De La Gaurdia Civil (Semar), which received over a dozen of the type, but donated two to Mauritania and one to Senegal. The Rodman 55M is designed for high speed patrols and can reach speeds in excess of 50 knots. They are made from composite materials and displace 20 tons. Length is 17 metres and draft around one metre. Crew is four to five.
