Mauricio Funes The president of El Salvador, hasÂ confirmed that they are "very advanced" talks with the Government of Chile to acquire a dozen attack used aircraft Cessna A-37B Dragonfly which would increase the fleet of the Air Force Salvadoran (FAS ).
He said that El Salvador currently has aircraft donated by the government of the United States who have about 50 years of operation, many of which are also A-37. He explained that a delegation from the Chilean government would arrive the last week of October to the country to continue talks with the Ministry of National Defense of El Salvador so we can finalize the acquisition. Funes announced the purchase last May, but currently spoke of 12 aircraft valued at $ 8.6 million.
