Colombia; MoD intends to seal Rafale fighters order this week

The intention of the Colombian MoD is to acquire 16 aircraft, but the initial contract will be for between three and four units for 678 million dollars

The Colombian government and the French firm Dassault Aviation will seal this week the purchase of the Rafale C/F3 multirole fighter, with which the Colombian Air Force (FAC) will begin the process of renewing its air superiority fleet.

The intention of the South American country is to acquire a total of 16 of these aircraft (12 single-seaters and four two-seaters), but the initial contract will be for between three and four units for approximate values 678 million dollars.

This first agreement includes, in addition to aircraft, aspects such as the integration of systems and weapons, simulators for the training of crews, training of technical personnel and assistance by the French Air and Space Army, in development of the Conpes 4078 document (approval of means and resources for the Integral System of National Defense).
