Uruguay; China donates more surplus military material valued $4.5M

The Chinese Government has donated to the Armed Forces of Uruguay various military equipment valued at 4.5 million dollars. The act of delivery of the donation took place, on November 16, at the facilities of the Material and Armament Service of the Uruguayan Army and was attended by the Minister of Defense, Javier García, and the Chinese Ambassador to Uruguay, Wan Gang .

The donated material consists of 700 personal protective equipment for infantry, 2,000 bulletproof vests, 3,000 ballistic helmets, 20 HF MR 9360 Manpack tactical radios, ten HF MR 9360 Fixed tactical radios, 30 night vision equipment for IR580C helmets.

The Army also received 100 BOE-007 type smart thermal sights for rifles, which have the ability to self-calibrate with a single shot and have a built-in distance meter along with the ability to record and share videos via wireless link.
