The Carabineros de Chile Logistics Directorate opened a public tender to contract the replacement service of the chassis, kinematic chain and reconditioning of the interior cabin of the armored bus acronym B-191 Mercedes-Benz brand Mowag L-914 model year 1986 for an estimated amount from $ 95,000.
The work, which considers a new chassis and an updated power train, is intended to extend the operating period of the vehicle used to transport personnel since the structural conditions of the body do not meet the minimum safety conditions required in situations of stress. control of public order.
The bus requires a diesel engine with a minimum capacity of 9,500 cm3, maximum power from 300 Hp, maximum torque from 1,300 Nm, turbocharger and intercooler system, common rail electric fuel injection or system with similar characteristics and a tank with a minimum capacity 350 liters.
The unit will have a manual-selection synchronized mechanical transmission considering at least eight speeds and will have 4×2 traction, the rear axle having to consider a difference locking system with hub reduction. The front and rear service brakes shall be self-adjusting dual-circuit pneumatic actuated drum or disc and the engine brake shall have exhaust gas throttle control or similar system.
The reconditioning and renewal service of the institutional personnel transport vehicle must include a guarantee for labor and spare parts as a whole for a period of no less than eight months.
Offers that do not achieve a minimum total score of 80% or if they exceed the budget range available for the acquisition or contracting of the service will be declared inadmissible by the Carabineros de Chile.
