The new president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, has appointed Admiral (r) Fernando Donoso as head of the Ministry of Defense, Vice Admiral Jorge Cabrera Espinosa as head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces; Brigadier General Fabián Fuel Revelo, Commander of the Land Force; Rear Admiral Luis Vásquez Bermúdez as Commander of the Naval Force; and Brigadier General Geovanny Espinel, commander of the Air Force.
Lasso also thanked the members of the former military leadership for the services rendered to the country: Major General Luis Lara Jaramillo, Vice Admiral Rafael Poveda Romero, Brigadier General Washington Buñay Guevara and Brigadier General Gustavo Agama Pérez.
