The United States Government, through the US Northern Command, donated three Safe Full Cabin-type high-speed interceptor boats and communication and biometric equipment to the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, for an approximate value of 5 , 9 million dollars. The ceremony was held at the Coral Harbor Naval Base.
The donation includes, first of all, two Safe 44 ‘and one 33’, Full Cabin – Inboard, used mainly for interdiction in the open sea. They are the product of the American shipbuilder Safe Boats.
Other equipment The remainder of the material includes long-range communications equipment for the vessels, as well as land communication systems, Harris radios and spare parts to augment the Defense Force’s existing Harris HF / VHF radio inventory, and a mobile land-based radio system. .
