After 15 years of service, the Police intends to be able to update and modernize the pistols provided by its personnel with a new generation weapon that is adapted to the operational needs of this force.
The Colombian company Indumil has offered the Colombian National Police its Córdova 3.0 9×19 mm Standard pistol, within the process of renovating its weapons park in which the police institution is immersed. Thus, with the support of the Vice Ministry of Defense, Indumil has delivered 20 Córdovas to the Police to be subjected to various tests, the results of which must be communicated no later than the end of this month of July.
If chosen, the Colombian industry pistol would replace the 9x19mm Sig Sauer SP2022 (Sigpro) pistol, which the Colombian Police has used since 2006 to replace the Martial (licensed copy of the Spanish Llama Martial) and Cassidi revolvers. (Smith & Wesson M-10 licensed copy) both in .38SPL caliber, supplied at the time by Indumil.
