The Spanish Civil Guard has launched a tender, the third in a year and a half, for the supply of 5.56 x 45 mm caliber personal assault rifles. The CG has allocated almost six million euros for the purchase of a minimum of 3,500 rifles, half of those planned at the beginning of 2021 in the second tender. The maximum dimensions of the rifle will be 100 cm in length, 30 cm in height, and 8.5 in width, and the weight with an empty magazine may not exceed 3.85 kg. The weapon must have a cadence equal to or greater than 750 rounds per minute.
