Thailand; Navy orders locally made 8×8 Amphibious APCs and 4×4 Multipurpose Armored Vehicles

According to Defense Studies, the Thai Government Procurement System, the Comptroller General’s Department, Ministry of Finance announced on September 20 the winners of both wheeled armored vehicle procurement projects of the Royal Thai Navy.

Panus Assembly Co. is the winner of the tender for two 8×8 APCs, amounting to USD 3,080,387 (Bht 49,950,000 /USD 1,540,240 per R600 vehicle). Chaiseri Metal & Rubber Co. is the winner of the purchase of six First Win 4×4 multi-purpose armored vehicles, amounting to Bht 99, 900,000 baht (USD 3,080,387 / Bht 16,650,000/USD 513,414 per vehicle).

For the 4×4 multi-purpose armored vehicle purchase project, Chaiseri Thai is the winner over Nunta Trade Co. Ltd. Thailand, and Partnership. S. Siam Panich, Thailand, which should act as a representative of foreign car dealers, Defense Studies reports.

According to the TORs (Terms of Reference), the content is the same as the project for the purchase of 6 multi-purpose armored vehicles with 4-wheel drive (4 x 4) by the Department of Naval Transport (Naval). Transportation Department) in 2020. It is understood that this latest purchase will be the supply of 6 additional Chaiseri’s First Win 4×4 armored vehicles for the Royal Thai Marine Corps (RTMC).
