The Colombian Navy has exhibited for the first time its tactical submersible boats of the Multitec Chieftype, within the framework of the Sea Week.
Chiefs are employed by the Navy’s tactical divers (Naval Commandos) teams in various types of operations, including submarine infiltration, surveillance,
destruction of targets, sabotage of naval units, amphibious reconnaissance missions, and intelligence operations.
These boats are made of aluminum and have a weight of 57 kilograms, with a length of 1.40 meters by 28 centimeters wide, reaching speeds of up to seven
kilometers per hour, with an autonomy of up to 135 minutes and being able to reach depths of up to 200 meters.
