The President of Bolivia, Luis Arce Catacora, partially renewed the High Command of the Bolivian Armed Forces. The swearing-in ceremony took place on

Monday, October 4, at the presidential headquarters and was attended, among other authorities, by the Minister of Defense, Edmundo Novillo.

The following appointments have been authorized by the President: Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, Major General (Army) Augusto Antonio García Lara;  Chief of staff of the Armed Forces, Air Brigadier General Teófilo Medina Zabala; and General commander of the Navy,Captain Francis Enfraín Frank Salazar. So far, the General commanders of the Army,Brigadier General Hugo Eduardo Arandia López,and of the Air Force, Air DivisionGeneral Marcelo Juan Heredia Cuba,continue in their positions.
