Russian MoD has reportedly offered India to develop its own armored vehicles with the country based on the Armata universal Armata platform.
“The Indian partners were offered new areas of work, including the creation of armored vehicles based on the Armata platform, according to the technical specifications of the customer, especially considering that the Indian military plans to launch work on the creation of a new main battle tank,” Valeria Reshetnikova, press secretary of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) of Russia, was quoted as saying by state-owned RIA Novosti.
“Armata” is a heavy tracked unified platform developed by Uralvagonzavod. On the basis of the platform, a main battle tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, self-propelled guns and a number of other armored vehicles are created.
The T-14 is the first tank in the world that implements the concept of network-centric war in its design concept, where it is used primarily as a reconnaissance vehicle, target designation and fire adjustment of self-propelled guns, air defense systems and T-90 tanks from the escort of its tactical echelon.
