According to Defence & Technology, the first deliveries of the Armored Combat Vehicle – ZMA Modernization Project, which was initiated by the Presidency of Defense Industries in cooperation with ASELSAN-FNSS to meet the needs of the Land Forces Command, will be made in 2022.
Head of Defense Industry of Turkiye İsmail Demir, at the “2021 Evaluation and 2022 Targets Meeting”, said: “We will deliver the first Armored Combat Vehicle-ZMA, which is modernized and integrated with an unmanned gun turret”.
Within the scope of the project, at the first stage, 133 ZMAs will be equipped with modern weapon systems developed with domestic and original solutions and high-tech mission equipment, significantly increasing the survivability of the vehicles and extending their useful life.
ASELSAN, as the main contractor, will carry out the renovation and improvement activities of the ZMAs, 25 mm NEFER Weapon Turret, Laser Warning System, Close Range Surveillance System, Driver Vision System, Direction Finding and Navigation System, Commander, Gunner, Personnel and Driver Dashboards will be integrated.
