Finish Patria receives the highest score to supply 76 8×8 to Slovakia
The company has beaten the four bids submitted by General Dynamics in a contest budgeted at more than 330 million
The Slovak Ministry of Defense has chosen the offer submitted by the Finnish company Patria, the armored AMV-XP as the best for its program of acquisition of 76 wheeled armored vehicles. Now the bidders must evaluate the financial offer in a process that has not yet been concluded and which is budgeted at 332.2 million euros. The minister, Jaroslav Nad, has revealed this in an entry on his Facebook account, in which he has written: “The offer of the Finnish government of the Homeland AMVXP was evaluated by the team of experts of the project as the best of the five bids submitted (Czech Republic, Finland, Romania, Spain and USA).”
The other four candidates are the Pandur II, Piranha V and Dragon vehicles, offered by General Dynamics European Lands Systems, in collaboration with Czech, Romanian and Slovak companies, and the Stryker, from the American General Dynamics Land Systems.
Slovakia also plans to reinforce its ground forces with another 156 armored vehicles, in this case chains (IFV) for an estimated budget of 1,739 million euros.
