According to pictures published by the U.S. Department of Defense, the United States has started sending the A3 variant of M113s tracked APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) vehicles to Ukraine.
U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division prepared the shipment of M113 Armored Personnel Carriers onto truck trailers at Fort Stewart, Georgia, on April 21, 2022. The 3rd ID divested the armored vehicles to support the Presidential Response requirements for the European Theater of Operations for the purpose of providing immediate military assistance to Ukraine.
The pictures released by the U.S. DoD (Department of Defense) show that the United States will provide different variants of the M113 armored vehicle including ambulance versions.
On April 13, President Biden authorized a Presidential Drawdown of security assistance valued at up to $800 million tailored to meet urgent Ukrainian needs for today’s fight as Russian forces shift the focus of their ruthless aggression to eastern Ukraine. A the same time, the United States had published a list of all the military equipment and combat vehicles that were to be delivered to Ukrainian armed forces including 200 M113 tracked APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) vehicles.
