The working group is also responsible for issuing a final report with a technical proposal that identifies the type of communications satellite required, capabilities, purchasing process and the industrial and technological compensations that will be raised as requirements to the international industry.

The working group has until December 9 of this year to present the report with the options that Peru has at its disposal in terms of satellite communications solutions.

Closing connectivity gaps

The representatives of the Transport and Communications and Defense sectors agreed that the working group will be led by the Deputy Minister of Communications, Virgilio Tito Chura, given that one of the main goals of the acquisition of a satellite in this segment is the closing of connectivity gaps in Peru, and in the background provide bandwidth for secure military communications, which implies that the orbital apparatus will have dual use, civil and military.
