Ukraine; German confirms sale of 100 PzH-2000 valued €1.7 billion  

According to information published by the German newspaper website “WELT” on July 27, 2022, Germany approves the sale of 100 PzH 2000 155mm self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine for an amount of €1.7 billion.

Citing information of German magazine Der Spiegel, the German company KMW (Krauss-Maffei Wegmann) the manufacturer of the PzH 2000 howitzer has already started the production of the first artillery systems for Ukraine. The full production of the 100 PzH 2000 howitzers for Ukraine will take several years to be completed. Currently, there has not yet been a decision on delivery times.

The Pzh 2000 howitzer is in service with the Ukrainian armed forces and it has already been used in combat operations against Russian forces. Indeed, in May 2022 Netherlands and Germany approved the delivery of 12 PzH 2000, 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine. The Netherlands has provided five examples to Ukraine while Germany has supplied seven.

On June 28, 2022, German Defense Minister Lambrechts announced that Germany in collaboration with the Netherlands will supply Ukraine with six additional PzH 2000 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzers.
