On August 15, the Latvian Ministry of Defense informed that the Ukrainian Air Force has received four helicopters donated by Latvia, which will soon be fully included in the aviation fleet of the Ukrainian Army.
Two Mi-17 and two Mi-2 helicopters were delivered to the Air Force of Ukraine in partially disassembled form. Before delivery to Latvia, the helicopters were painted, and one Mi-17 was overhauled. The Ukrainian Air Force will start using the helicopters in the performance of tasks until their assembly is fully completed.
It has already been reported that Latvia is one of the countries that has provided Ukraine with the most significant support in terms of volume in relation to the gross domestic product. Latvia has supplied Ukraine with weapons and individual equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles, dry food rations, ammunition, anti-tank weapons and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles in the amount of more than 200 million euros.
