Raytheon Australia has signed a definitive contract with the US-headquartered firm Pacific Defense to support the Australian Army’s LAND 555 Phase 6 program.
The program aims to modify the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) existing Bushmaster-protected mobility vehicles. The contract involves the supply of land force level electronic warfare (EW) systems and is part of the Land Force Level EW Project.
This $51.85m (A$75m) project was recently approved by the Australian Government, and Raytheon Australia was selected to deliver it.
Under the latest contract, EW systems will be equipped on the Bushmaster vehicles. It will also be interoperable with the EW systems acquired by the Five Eyes alliance consisting of Australia, the UK, Canada, the US and New Zealand.
Pacific Defense’s chassis-based EW systems consists of a wide range of mission software and plug-in cards. It includes EW application software and wideband software-defined radios (SDR) to provide electronic support for signal detection and electronic attack jamming techniques. The EW systems are built in compliance with the command, control, computers, communications, cyber, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS).
