The Spanish Government has authorized in the Council of Ministers the sale to Peru for a symbolic price of 600 euros of six SH-3D Sea King helicopters of the Navy and their associated spare parts. These aircraft are in a situation of low availability.
The helicopters will be transferred with a spare parts package. This disposal does not jeopardize the operation of the Armed Forces, as the entry into service of the planned units of the SH-60F helicopter fleet is contemplated soon, explains the subsequent reference to the Council of Ministers.
And he adds: “The value, according to the inventory of the material in question, is contrasted by circumstances such as the obsolescence of the material, its high repair cost, transport costs, limited marketing opportunities and, consequently, its low market value.”
Therefore, the Government details, the total amount of these disposals “has been determined at 600 euros, a symbolic figure achieved based on the clear logistical benefit it represents for the Navy, by facilitating a final destination for this material and with the aim, likewise, of strengthening the fluid and trust relationship between the Navy and the Peruvian Navy.”
