According to information published by the US DoD on February 1, 2023, MBDA Inc., Arlington, Virginia, is awarded a $118,673,894 not-to-exceed, firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite contract action for the production of the Common Anti-Air Module Missile (CAMM) for Multi-Mission Surface Combatants (MMSC) ships.
This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative not-to-exceed value of this contract to $145,552,474. This contract involves Foreign Military Sales to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Foreign Military Sales funds for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the amount of $65,786,821 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
About the MMSC
The Multi-Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC) is a modern ship designed to confront a variety of threats, both in littoral and open ocean waters. Developed for the Royal Saudi Navy, the MMSC has a semi-planning mono-hull made of steel and aluminum and an open-architecture design.
At 118.6 meters in length, 17.6 meters in beam, and 4.3 meters in draft, the MMSC has a displacement of 3,600 tons. The ship features a large deck that can support an MH-60R Seahawk helicopter, as well as a helicopter hangar that can accommodate additional unmanned air vehicles.
For naval missions in high sea states, the MMSC is equipped with rigid-hulled inflatable boats that are carried amidship and an articulating stern ramp for fast and safe deployment.
