Guyana has acquired two Dornier Do 228 aircraft manufactured, under license, by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The transaction was agreed after the visit of the president of the South American country, Irfaan Ali, to the facilities of HAL.
The Guyanese president “agreed to the purchase of two aircraft” Do 228. The president liked the 18-seater plane better.
However, to date there is no official confirmation of the purchase by the Guyanese government and the country’s public media, although they made a brief review of the presidential visit to the Indian aeronautical plant, have not made any reference to the alleged negotiation for the planes.
