Argentina’s Ministry of Defense will begin construction of the new multipurpose landing ship next August. The news follows the agreement signed between Minister Jorge Taiana and the governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, by which the Tandanor and Río Santiago shipyards will build various naval assets for the Argentine Navy with the aim of recovering capabilities.

According to data provided last year by the Ministry of Defense, the model that best fits the description of the future ship is the LST 100 (Landing Ship Transport) of Damen. From the Dutch company ensure that its design provides access and support to small and shallow ports, providing amphibious capacity.
