El Salvador; Army receives Mexican made Hurricanes 4X4 MRAPS

As announced by El Salvador’s Minister of Defense, René Merino, at the end of July 2023, the Salvadoran government continues its momentum towards modernizing its security forces by incorporating 11 Hurricane armored vehicles into its arsenal. Manufactured in Mexico by WBA Blindajes Alemanes, these vehicles, valued at nearly $5 million, have been delivered to the Cavalry Regiment, enhancing the country’s law enforcement capabilities. This strategic initiative follows the reception of eight Hurricane vehicles in August 2022, representing an initial investment of approximately $3.6 million, showcasing El Salvador’s commitment to fortifying its security infrastructure.
