Ecuador, through the General Command of the National Police, has signed contracts for the acquisition of 1,752 rifles of the Emtan Karmiel Ltd. type. MZ-4P, valued at $4,404,624.
The process, opened in July of this year, was awarded last Tuesday, August 8, contemplating the supply of the MZ-4P assault rifle of 5.56×45 millimeters, together with their respective cleaning equipment, masks, magazines and user manuals), in 110 days and in accordance with the schedules established in the contractual documents.
The purpose of this process is to be able to provide the Police with new equipment and systems, thus increasing their operational capacities in the fight they have been sustaining against organized crime that commits crimes in this country.
The MZ-4P has an 11.5″ or 14.5″ gun offering therefore a balanced combination of precision and operation in close combat scenarios and is intended for use in special forces and SWAT units.
The rifle has a maximum length of 795 mm and 715 mm with the stock retracted, and a maximum weight without magazine of 3.10 kg – in the 11.5″ version, with a rate of fire of between 700 and 950 rounds per minute and is designed for use by right- and left-handed personnel.
