The U.S. Government has approved the transfer of a batch of 24 Lockheed Martin F-16A/B MLU Fighting Falcon aircraft from the Danish Air Force to the Argentine Air Force and four Norwegian Lockheed P-3C and P-3N Orion aircraft destined for the Argentine Navy.
The confirmation of this transfer took place after the delivery of a letter by the Argentine Government in which the conditions established for the operation were accepted.
The deal for the 24 Fighting Falcon jets is worth $338 million. Personnel training, a large batch of spare parts, tools needed for aircraft maintenance, and an additional contract with the United States for the acquisition of weapons, including AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles, AIM-120 Amraam, guided bombs, and target designation and reconnaissance pods should be added.
