The company revealed a few months ago its plans to set up two factories in Morocco, but has not clarified whether the new contract is related
Israeli arms company Elbit Systems has a contract in the pipeline, valued at around $135 million, to “establish an artillery ammunition factory for an international customer.” This was revealed by the company on Monday in a statement in which it did not specify which country it is. Last June, Elbit Systems’ plans to install two military equipment factories in Morocco were revealed, although there is no further information to suggest that this project, which was under study at the time, corresponds to the announcement made now.
The company limits itself to pointing out, for now, that the new contract for the installation of a manufacturing center “for an international customer” will take advantage of “the important technical and operational knowledge” accumulated by the company, in addition to “decades of experience in ammunition production.
