The Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) has taken delivery of the initial batch of Bell 505 helicopters from Bell Textron, with a total of 10 helicopters set to be delivered. The purchase agreement, inked in July 2022, encompasses not only the aircraft but also includes a flight training device and an extensive computer-based training package. These resources will be instrumental in supporting both basic and advanced rotorcraft flight training at the King Hussein Air College in Mafraq, Jordan.
The RJAF is part of a growing list of military forces in the Middle East region choosing the Bell 505 as their preferred advanced military trainer. The UAE’s Horizon International Flight Academy already operates 12 Bell 505s, while the Kingdom of Bahrain recently received three Bell 505 aircraft in early 2023. More than 30 Bell 505 helicopters are in operation across the Middle East and Africa. Furthermore, the Bell 505 serves as the military training helicopter for the Montenegro Air Force, the Republic of Korea Army, and the Republic of Korea Navy.
