According to a PR published by Saab on December 5, 2023, the Swedish defense and security company, has recently embarked on a new venture with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). The contract involves conducting concept development studies focused on advancing future underwater capabilities for Sweden. Let’s take a look at Saab’s experience in submarines.

International Collaborations and Proposals

Saab’s role in submarine technology extends beyond domestic projects, as evidenced by their proposal to the Netherlands for replacing the Dutch Walrus-class submarines. This proposal suggests providing the Netherlands with advanced Expeditionary Submarines, incorporating current innovations and technology.
