The Army Contracting Board has put out to tender the framework agreement for the supply of 40x53mm grenades for LAG-40 and MK19 for a value of just over 15 million euros.
The agreement will last for two years and includes a significant increase in the amounts allocated to this investment. In fact, the agreement it replaces, of 2020 and lasting four years with an amount of just under six million; and the previous one, from 2017 with a duration of three years and a budget of 3.8 million, This increase is undoubtedly due to the discovery, due to the war in Ukraine, that the stock available in the arsenals would barely last a few hours at the pace of the fighting that has been seen in the European conflict.
The tender is divided into three lots. The first for 40x 53 mm HE breaker grenades, endowed with 5,361,856.67 euros; the second for 40×53 mm HEDP armor-piercing grenades with a budget of 8 million; and 40×53 mm TP-T tracer exercise grenades for $1.6 million.
