The units will reinforce naval capacity to patrol maritime jurisdictions and Ecuador will also receive an example of the same type
Under a contract award from the U.S. Army’s Redstone Arsenal Contracting Command to U.S. conglomerate Textron Aviation, the Peruvian Navy will receive two Beechcraft King Air 360 ER MPA maritime patrol aircraft.
In the same contract of the Military Sales Abroad (FMS) program that the two maritime patrol aircraft are acquired for the Peruvian Naval Aviation, a copy of the same type has been included for the Ecuadorian Navy, reinforcing the capacities of both naval institutions to patrol their respective maritime jurisdictions in times of the presence of fishing fleets that carry out illegal fishing.
The Beechcraft King Air 360 MPA aircraft will be modified by Textron Aviation towards the maritime patrol configuration by integrating commercially available components.
The King Air 360ER aircraft in civil configuration has a range of 2,539 nautical miles; maximum cruising speed of 303 KTAS (561 km/h); Payload of 7,174 pounds (3,254 kilograms). It is an aircraft that is widely accepted among government, police and military agencies due to its versatility, performance and ease of modification to special versions such as maritime patrol.
