The procurement of these Shaldag Mk V vessels stems from a contract between the Philippine government and Israel Shipyards Ltd. Signed in early 2021, this agreement includes the acquisition of nine vessels, with the first eight constructed in Israel. The final vessel, the 9th in the series, will be assembled in the Philippines.

The Shaldag Mk V features a length of 32.65 meters and a displacement of approximately 95 tons. It can achieve speeds exceeding 40 knots.

The Shaldag Mk V is equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and combat systems, enhancing its operational effectiveness in coastal and offshore patrol missions.

Its armament includes a remote-controlled weapon station, typically mounting a 25-30 mm automatic cannon, and provisions for smaller machine guns. The vessel’s advanced sensors and communication systems allow for effective coordination and situational awareness during interdiction operations.
