The Army (EJC) is looking to incorporate 1,414 new 60-millimeter commando-type mortars. According to technical specialist Alex Carrillo, the EJC has launched a request Infodefensa.com for quotation, according to technical specification NTMD-0261 (UNSPSC code 46111501), to receive offers that include securities and conditions of sale.
The mortars must be able to use the IMC 60 mm H.E-T ammunition. C grenade type designed and manufactured by Indumil Colombia and currently in stock in the EJC.
With this, the Army is looking for a weapon with a range of approximately 1,700 meters, as a close support system, highly effective for use at the squad level, characterized by its low weight and easy handling by a single operator (with protective thermal mesh) and whose weight does not exceed 6.8 kilograms.
