Advanced Chinese-made electronic warfare systems were uncovered in Egypt. An Egyptian military convoy containing parts of the LDK-190 system was photographed.
Electronic warfare systems have become one of the most important tools in improving the defensive and offensive capabilities of modern armies. The LDK-190 system is considered one of the most advanced systems that provides excellent capabilities in the field of electronic intelligence, blocking and even launching electronic attacks at a range of up to 400 kilometers, improving the Egyptian army’s electronic capabilities in any potential conflict.
One of the features of this new system is the detection of enemy radars at a distance of up to 600 km. In addition to identifying locations and classifying enemy movements at these distances. and protection of radars and anti-aircraft systems from anti-radiation missiles by “covering” radar frequencies and preventing communication over a distance of 300 km.
This system prevents the “enemy” in the air, sea and land from using satellite positioning systems over a distance of 300 km and mixing frequencies from 0.5 to 40 GHz.
It can also detect stealth aircraft and ships, identify remotely managed drones and interrupt their data transmission, identify AEW aircraft from 500 km away, and damage (to the point of fire) any wireless equipment with an aiming transmission power of 500 kW.
The role of electronic warfare systems:
Electronic jamming : disabling enemy communications, radars or navigation systems.
Electronic intelligence gathering: Gathering intelligence on enemy signals and communications.
Electronic attack : penetration and disruption of electronic systems of adversaries.
The importance of electronic warfare in the Egyptian army:
Electronic warfare units are of great importance after air defense units, as they work side by side with the other arms to provide a comprehensive protection umbrella. Their ability to capture and neutralize modern systems makes them an essential component of modern warfare that relies heavily on technology.
The presence of such advanced systems attests to the ongoing modernization of the Egyptian army and its equipping itself with the latest technologies for dealing with regional challenges.
