The Peruvian Navy (MGP) and the Ministry of Transport and Communications have signed a cooperation agreement to enable the construction and equipment of the Callao Airport and the partial modernization of the Callao Naval Base.
The new facility will be used for parking cargo trucks and containers on 20 hectares belonging to the Callao Naval Base, between Néstor Gambetta and Contralmirante Mora avenues. The new structure will help reduce vehicular congestion caused by the approximately 3,800 trucks that enter and exit daily from the two port terminals, north and south, in Callao.
Truck drivers will be able to find service areas, rest areas, toilets and food, digital interconnection with the port terminal to optimize the flow of vehicles and cargo, among others.
