The Argentine Ministry of Defense approved the purchase of two Sea King helicopters for the Argentine Navy (ARA). The acquisition was ratified in the official gazette through Administrative Decision 1277/2021. The total amount of the agreement with the American company Carson Helicopters Inc. is around $12.83 million.
It is planned that the helicopters will be destined for the Comandante Espora Naval Air Base, located in the Buenos Aires city of Bahía Blanca, in order to increase the operational capacity of the ARA, with projection throughout the extension of the national territory and, especially, during the Antarctic campaigns in the extreme south of Argentina.
