Belgium; DAF wins contract for 879 trucks to the armed forces

The Belgian Armed Forces have ordered a batch of 879 all-wheel drive trucks from the Dutch company DAF for an undisclosed price. The schedule contemplates starting to deliver the vehicles next year and continue the supply progressively until the order is completed in 2025.

In total, there are 636 CF Military trucks with two axles with 4×4 driveline, which will be used for general cargo transport, plus another 243 with 4 axles and 8×8 driveline. The latter will be used for different tasks: tippers, container ships and cranes.

DAF receives large order from Belgian Armed Forces - DAF Trucks N.V.

DAF has selected the firm HIAB to equip itself with the hook lift systems and load handling cranes with which the vehicles are equipped, and VS-Mont to supply itself with the tippers. As for the cargo bodies, the supplier is Porgest.

Ballistic cabins Of the total order, 352 units will be equipped with state-of-the-art ballistic cabins, provided by Tatra Defense Vehicle.

The cabs will generally be manufactured at DAF’s plant in Westerlo, Belgium.
