The U.S. Department of State has determined the approval of a possibleForeign Military Sale to the Government of Brazil of UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters and related logistical and program support elements. It will be for an estimated cost of up to $950 million and includes the initial acquisition of $450 million in Core Defense Equipment and up to $500 million in other equipment and services.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has already delivered the necessary certification to notify the U.S. Congress of this possible sale.
The Government of Brazil has requested the purchase of twelve UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters; thirty-four T700-GE-701D engines (24 installed, 10 spare); twenty-eight EAGLE-M on-board global positioning systems with inertial navigation (EGI) or functional equivalent (24 installed, 4 spare); and twenty-four AN/ARC-231A radio systems.
Also included is the following non-MDE system: AN/PYQ-10 Unique Key Loader (SKL); KIV-77 Common Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) cryptographic applications; APX-123A Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) transponders; AN/ARC-231 radio systems; ARC-201D Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) or functional equivalents; ARC-220 high-frequency airborne communication systems or functional equivalents with KY-100M; advanced VRC-100 high-frequency ground/vehicular communication systems; ARN-147 navigation receivers.
In addition, ARN-149 automatic low-frequency direction finders are requested; ARN-153 Advanced Digital Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) receiver-transmitters; APN-209 altimeter radar systems; AN/ARC-210 Gen 6 Very High Frequency/Frequency Modulation Radios; AN/AVR-2B(V) laser warning systems (supplies only); airspace concept assessment system (ACES); minigun M-134D-H; bundle of weapons and mounting accessories; weapons and mounting accessories supplied by the contractor, including spare parts, in support of the M-134D-H minigun systems; Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS); Aviation Ground Support Team (AGSE); HGU-56/P rotary-wing helmets (RWH); Advanced Display Computers (ASDC); Common Display Interface Units (CDIUs); Wide Color Daytime Display Module (WCDDM); Wide Color Night Display Module (WCNDM).
