According to Infodefensa.com, Colombian Air Force has opted for the Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) TA-50 and FA-50 aircraft as the main alternatives for the future replacement of its Cessna A-37B,of which there would only be six units in operation, already scheduled to be withdrawn from service.
Infodefensa.com has been able to confirm that the second commander of the
Colombian Air Force (FAC),would have visited South Korea to know first-hand the characteristics of the TA-50 and FA-50 aircraft necessary for the fulfillment of the constitutional missions assigned to this institution.
The offer for the TA-50 and FA-50,is given within the framework of the excellent
bilateral relations that both nations maintain in trade and defense matters and that in the recent past have resulted in the donation of two corvettes by the Korean Navy (ROKN)to the Colombian Navy (ARC),as well as the recent support to the Colombian naval industry through its International Cooperation Agency.
