Twelve of these armored units have been fitted with Thomson Brandt AM 50 120 mm parts
The National Army of Colombia (EJC) has begun to use and deploy 12 armored vehicles of the FMC-BAE M113-A2 type -locally called Military Personnel Carriers-TPM 113 A2- as tugs of Thomson Brandt (current Thales) AM 50 mortars of 120 mm, also attaching M40 recoilless cannons of 105 x 607 millimeters.
The crew of these vehicles is made up of the driver, the gunner – on a turret that emplaces a Browning M2A2 QCB COAX machine gun of 12.7×99 millimeters – two operators for the mortar and two for the recoilless rifle.
The armoured vehicles have been distributed four by each of the three TPM companies, which are made up of nine personnel transport units (APCs), four command posts, four mortar carriers and a Medevac.
Colombia has a total of 54 TPMs, which have been undergoing various recovery or maintenance processes in recent years.
