The United States, through the company Lockheed Martin, has renewed its offer of F-16 aircraft for the Colombian Air Force (FAC) with two different proposals within the process of renewing its combat fleet. The first, of 24 new aircraft for an individual value of 108 million dollars and total project of 4,200 million dollars, would include training, training, storage, construction of hangars, adaptation of runways and simulators, for a period of three years counted from the delivery of the aircraft.
In the event that Colombia does not accept this proposal, the US has launched a second offer consisting of 16 new aircraft, for an individual value of 112 million dollars and total value of the project of 3,132 million dollars, with the same conditions of sale as revealed by the Caracol Radio news network.
Harpoon and JSOW missiles
The United States has also offered FAC the possibility of acquiring and integrating missiles of the Boeing Integrated Defense Systems AGM-84E (Harpoon) types in undisclosed numbers, but in the amount of $177,800,000, as well as missiles of the Raytheon AGM-154 (JSOW) type in undetermined numbers, in the amount of $225,000,000.
To this would be added a very important offset package, aimed at boosting the Colombian aerospace industry, as well as the issues of cyber defense and cybersecurity, which would allow Colombia to generate up to 10,000 direct and indirect jobs for its economy and for its defense industrial sector.
