The General Command of the Colombian Military Forces (CGFM) has reported that three soldiers were injured following a drone attack by FARC-EP dissidents in the southwest of the country.
The events occurred on June 12, when at 12:30 pm, the Army’s Bisonte-2 unit was attacked three times by drones that launched – under the pendulum modality – six homemade fragmentation grenades, slightly injuring three soldiers with the shrapnel.
After the attack, the BADRA-12 Rapid Deployment Battalion activated a team for the detection of drones, and prevented further attacks against the companies operating in the area.
It should be remembered that terrorist groups have been using commercial means for these acts, including drones of the DJI Technology Co Mavic 3 Pro types, with dropping kits installed (as an object launch system) that hugs the fuselage and releases the cargo with an interface in the RC. These drones have an Mtow of 1,150 grams, which allows them payloads of up to 300 grams.
