Ghana; Navy orders four Flex-fighter security vessels from Penguin Singapore

According to information published by the “Graphic Online” Website on January 5, 2022, the Navy of Ghana has acquired four Flex-fighter security vessels that will boots efforts at making Ghana’s maritime space safer and unattractive to pirates and other illegal activities.

The Ghana Navy command structure consists of the Naval Headquarters at Burma Camp, Accra. There are three operational commands, the Western Naval Command at Sekondi, the Eastern Naval Command at Tema and The Naval Training Command at Nutekpor-Sogakope in the Volta Region.

Currently the Navy of Ghana has a total 11 ships including four Snake-class patrol vessels, two Balsam-class patrol ships, one Chamsuri-class patrol boat, two Albatros-class fast attack craft and two Warrior-class/Gepard-class fast attack craft.

The Flex Fighter vessel is manufactured by the company Penguin located in Singapore, the vessel is based on Penguin’s well-proven Flex-40 Series crew boat design and powered by three Caterpillar C32 main engines, the Flex Fighter is the oil industry’s standard for armored security crew boats, with industry-leading speed, comfort and endurance.
