Hungary recently announced the acquisition of 56 Gidrán 4×4 tactical vehicles to strengthen the ongoing modernization of its Defense Forces (HDF). This purchase was confirmed by the Hungarian Minister of Defense, Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, during his visit to the Nurol Makina production facility in Turkey on February 4, 2023.
The minister emphasized the importance of cooperation between Hungary and Turkey, viewing the Gidrán program as a cornerstone of this partnership. Through this collaboration, the HDF continues to meet NATO capability requirements while consolidating its overall defense posture.
The Gidrán 4×4 is an armored combat vehicle designed to provide high levels of protection and mobility, meeting the operational needs of military units and security forces in all areas of deployment, whether urban or rural. Its chassis is distinguished by a unique design and substantial payload capacity, enabling the integration of various payloads and customization of the vehicle for a wide range of missions. Thanks to its powerful diesel engine delivering high torque and its fully independent suspension, it offers excellent off-road performance and high reliability during operations.
