Korea Aerospace Industries announced Tuesday that it had signed an export contract for six units of the T-50i, an introductory tactical trainer, with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense (I-MoD).
The T-50i is a trainer aircraft built to the requirements of the Indonesian Air Force based on the T-50. It can perform both training and light attack missions. The contract is 274.488 billion won (US$239 million).
KAI sold 16 T-50i units to Indonesia in May 2011 worth $400 million. With the latest order, the number of T-50i aircraft in service with Indonesia will rise to 22.
