Following extensive testing, it was decided in the land arm, subject to the procedures of the Ministry of Defense and through the American aid funds, to purchase hundreds of A12 model LAO missiles which are considered more accurate and effective in fighting in a built-up area. The missiles are to be handed over to the fighting forces and assist them in law enforcement missions and in cases of terrorists entrenching themselves in buildings
The IDF will be equipped with new A12 LA missiles after tests and the promotion of the deal according to the decision of the land arm, subject to the procurement procedures of the Ministry of Defense. The missiles of the new type from Norwegian “Nammo” company are considered more accurate and effective against buildings. They are mainly used for combating built-up areas, which to assist the IDF in the activity of arrests in the IOS and in the “pressure cooker” procedures employed as part of these activities, when terrorists are entrenched. The IDF intends to purchase several hundred Lao missiles of the model, which is considered ideal for use against various types of buildings and structures. IDF officials told mako that the new Lao missile will significantly improve the capabilities of the fighting forces in built-up terrain. In addition, the missile is cheaper than the in service “Nutcracker” (“Matador”) and will be purchased through the American security aid from the company “Namo Talley” from the USA.
