The Condor is a 4×4 wheeled armored personnel carrier originally designed by Thyssen-Henschel of Germany and manufactured by Henschel Wehrtechnik GmbH. The first prototype was completed in 1978. According to the Military Balance 2020, the Malaysian army has a total of 300 Condor in different variants.
According to the Malaysia flying herald, on of the candidate to replace the Condor APC is the Kaya II 4×4 MRAP vehicle developed and manufactured by the Turkish company Otokar. Other candidates are South African DENEL (RG-32), UAE’s Land Mobile Viper,or NIMR MRAPS, Australian Thales Bushmaster, and others.
