Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces signed an acquisition contract of 13 Bayraktar TB2 unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV) and related equipments with Turkey.
The Bayraktar TB2 is a Turkish medium altitude long endurance (MALE) unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) capable of remotely controlled or autonomous flight operations. It is manufactured by Turkey′s Baykar company primarily for the Turkish Air Force.
The system consists of Bayraktar TB2 Armed / UAV Platform, Ground Control Station, Ground Data Terminal, Remote Display Terminal, Advanced Base with Generator and Trailer modules.
Bayraktar TB2 has 4 hardpoints for laser guided smart munition, with provisions to carry combinations of L-UMTAS (Long Range Anti tank Missile System) , MAM-L and MAM-C precision-guided munitions, Roketsan Cirit (70 mm Missile System) and Tubitak-Sage Bozok Laser Guided Rockets.
The total price of this purchase is estimated to be approximately around $65 million.
The supply of the combat drones is scheduled to begin within a year.
