Myanmar; Air Force showcases new aircraft types recently acquired

On December 15, the Myanmar Air Force (MAF) inducted 17 aircraft into service at Meiktila Air Base at a ceremony to mark the service’s 74th anniversary.

The Air Force commissioned six Yak-130 and six K-8W trainer jet/light fighters, a single ATR 72-600 medium transport aircraft, two Y-12 light transports and two AS365N2 Dauphin helicopters.

At the ceremony, a MTX-1A training jet developed by the Air Force was also showcased.
